Breeding: 8

"You think he'll come out?" Nickel mumbled to Bon. The tan Carrier shrugged. They all knew that the red Alpha hardly ever came out. If the new Carrier was as scared as they thought, neither of them might come out at all. Well, all they could do was wait and see. Solomon sat down on a rock at the edge of the big pond in the enclosure, waiting as well.

It would be a shock to him if the Carrier was still there. He himself had ended up with three of the Carriers that originally were sent over to the red Alpha. Peppermint, Buttermilk, and Bon had all been rejected and had exited the habitat and never went back in, instead coming over to his. He knew that two of Orange's Carriers had climbed through the small rectangular hole in the stables out of the red Alpha's. He was prepared to take in the new kid if he needed to.

"Ooh, he's coming out!" Buttermilk spoke in an excited whisper. "Wow!"

They all stared as the red Alpha walked out, completely oblivious to them. He yawned, shaking his head to fluff up his fur. Behind him was Six, who was clutching onto him and peering around with wide eyes. He spotted the four other Carriers and nearly jumped, quickly hiding himself behind the red Alpha. The Alpha looked down at him, and then at the four.

Nickel sunk behind the rock they were at, covering the right side of his face. "D-do you think he saw my face...? No wonder he hid..." Half of his face was covered in scars and burns and his right eye was gone. A part of his cheek had been torn off as well, giving him half of a wide Glasgow grin, exposing his teeth.

"No, no, Nickel! I'm thure that'th not it!" Peppermint knelt next to him. "He mutht've been thtartled to thee uth thtaring at him."

"I-I knew I shouldn't have stopped wearing my bandages..." Nickel buried his head in his knees. "I'm s-so stupid..."

"No! You may be frightening to thee but-" Peppermint covered his mouth realizing what he had said. Nickel stood up and bolted, heading back to their habitat. Bon sighed and chased after him.

Looking back, they saw that the red Alpha was nudging Six out from behind him. He pointed at the pond and said something quietly to the small Carrier. Six jumped again, eyes widening.

"B-but I-" his cry was silenced with more words Peppermint and Buttermilk couldn't catch. Buttermilk noticed Solomon getting up and making his way over to the two, and nudged Peppermint.

Solomon put on his nicest face and calmly walked up to the two so as not to frighten Six. Of all the Floks, he had the most human gait. He waved to get the red Alpha's attention. "Hello!"

"Um, hi..." Six peered at Solomon nervously.

"So you have a new Carrier? How is that working out? I'll gladly take him if needed, it'd be better than sending him to Orange, he'd be assaulted on sight." Solomon got straight to the point.

"Um... I..." The red Alpha shifted nervously. "I'm uh...keeping Six... Um, he's my um, Queen, too, uh... You already, uh, have eight Carriers, so... Um... It's, uh, working fine, um, thanks..."

Solomon didn't know how to respond. He tried to keep his composure as he listened to the red Alpha. He didn't know what to think of how the other Alpha spoke. He sounded so timid! That didn't suit his looks at all. He was easily twice the size of Solomon, and looked far more animal-like, intimidating, and strong. He was expecting more growling and snarling, not a bunch of hesitations.

"O-okay then." Was all he could manage in response after a few moments of awkward silence. "So... If I may ask, why did you reject all the other Carriers?" He didn't understand why the red Alpha would have rejected five Carriers, only to settle on Six, who was in no shape for breeding and would never have been sold to anyone. All the Carriers he had originally been given were in top health, came from normal homes, and would have been great to breed with.

The red Alpha tapped his fingers together, gradually looking more and more embarrassed. "Um, um... I, um..." He hung his head. "Um... I was...scared of them..." he mumbled.

"O-oh..." Solomon lost his composure and slumped a little. His smile faded. "W-well, alright... I'm just going to, uh, see how my Queen is doing, have a nice day." Solomon couldn't bear it anymore and hurried off, using Pixel as his excuse.

Completely ashamed, the red Alpha covered his face with his hands. Six patted his back. "I-I'm such a lame Alpha... Solomon is such a cool Alpha and I'm just... I got scared of the other Carriers, I, I..."

"Um... I think you're cool!" Six stepped in front of him. "Y-you're really big and stuff! I'm scared of everything too! It's ok!"

"Really?" He let his hands go slack.

"Yeah!" Six clenched his fists.

"I... I want to go back inside..." He felt humiliated. It would be far too awkward to stay outside.

"B-but what about the big water thing? You wanted to go in that o-or something, a-and nobody's in it!"

"The pond?"

"Yeah! I've never seen one before!" Six had never seen so much water in one spot before. The most he'd ever seen at once was a small bowl of water and a few water bottles.
Bet you all thought the red Alpha was going to be strong and cool huh???? That's not so,,,,,,, ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Look who's back!!!! Six and his new Alpha!! It's been a few days since Six's arrival, and he seems happy, my precious baby.
The next part will be all about them, but then we switch back to Tino and Orange for the next arc of the story. So then I can reach the arc after that where we will learn the red Alpha's name which he refuses to tell anyone and you'll see why.
Today Solomon learned that judging people based on appearances is wrong. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
